遥かなるロシア バイカル湖の痛み

サハ人やブリヤートたちの住む極寒の土地には、世界一の透明度と、寒さで知られるバイカル湖があります。

バイカル湖はありふれた湖ではなく、貯水量と最大水深(1637メートル)は湖として世界最大であり、また、誕生したのも約2500万年前と、最も古い湖に数えられています。

世界の淡水の20％がここにあるといわれ、湖底には、メタンハイドレートも確認されているそうです。

そして日本では、天気予報に名が出てくるので私たちには特に親しい湖です。

湖の周辺には古くからブリヤート人が居住し、11-12世紀頃にはモンゴル族の影響を強く受け、次第にモンゴル化されていったということです。

17世紀中ごろ、帝政ロシアがバイカル湖周辺へ進出し、1628-1658年頃に周辺は支配下に置かれてしまいました。

バイカル湖の悲劇

1917年2月、帝政ロシアに革命が起きロマノフ王朝が崩壊し、ロシア国内で帝政ロシアの復活を目指す白軍と革命軍（赤軍）の激しい戦いが始まりました。

1919年11月、白軍の拠点であった東ウラルのオムスクが陥落。再起をはかるために、白軍は赤軍の追手のかからぬシベリアの奥地へと移動していき、　白軍50万人と、帝政時代の貴族、僧侶など女性や子どもを含む亡命者75万人が加わり、軍民合わせて総勢125万人が、東へ東へと大移動。

8000キロもある広大なシベリア横断、バイカル湖横断が始まりました。
前代稀に見る激しい寒波が彼らを襲い、猛吹雪により気温は氷点下70度まで下がり、一瞬にして意識を失うほどの強烈な寒さで、人々は歩きながら次々と凍っていき、バイカル湖の湖面にて、白軍は全滅したという話があります。

美しいバイカル湖とは裏腹の、２度と起きてはならない凄まじい悲しい話です。

更に今の痛みは工業汚染。

”バイカル湖の水を守ろう”　と呼びかけている祈りのグループもあるそうです。

The land for Buryat people and Saha people are live, Lake Baikal is known for the cold and deep water.
 In Japan, we are very familiar because of  the weather forecast reporting around  Lake Baikal. Around the lake is that the Buryat people are living from century old . around 11-12 century was strongly influenced by the Mongols.       

The mid-17th century, Czarist Russia was advanced and  controlled here .

        Tragedy of the lake Baikal

 In 1917 Russian revolution happened. Red Army pushed  500,000 white troops, 750,000 refugees, including women and children, nobles and monks joined , a total of 1,250,000 people in accordance with military and civilians, moved to the east to the east.
 They were started crossing the 8,000 km Siberia and they must cross the frozen  Lake Baikal also.

 intense enough cold weather  struck them, and the temperature dropped to 70 degrees below zero, lose consciousness in a moment. people were freeze , in  crossing the Lake Baikal  where white army and all people were  wiped out.

This was a terrible sad story and should not be happening again.

        Industrial pollution further pain for now.

   Some  prayer group are calling " trying to protect the water of Lake Baikal".
